0·8 months agoEU has a similar program called Horizon Europe, which spent around €95.5 billion so far. Though it’s broader in scope, not limited to just software, but includes various open source research too.
Their stuff is very expensive in comparison.
The thing is that nobody can realistically offer those prices. You have to sell the hardware at a loss and have alternative revenue source to subsidize it. That’s what Microsoft did with Xbox and what Valve did with Steam Deck.
