I decided to play some more Arkham City today after feeling a little burnt out on AC Shadows. I went through the Museum in it’s entirety today.
One thing i found myself notcing was that the entire museum gives me major Arkham Asylum vibes. The small corridors feel very Asylum-esque compared to the external large sprawling city. Another thing i’ve noticed about this game is it feels really grounded, and then it pulls a sudden fantastical element of sorts on you. Like Solomon Grundy or the clayface boss.
Going through the museum was a lot of fun. I actually stopped to look at a lot of the exhibits and fliers lying around, such as this one on the ground of a T-Rex.
Or this one of the hyenas (granted, these were also part of a riddle). a lot of these exhibits had audio displays you could interact with which would give you narrations of different things.
Granted, i might have taken this museum tour part a bit far as i made Freeze wait and suffer while i listened to his narration.
Earlier i mentioned the Solomon Grundy boss fight, which is one of my favorite parts of this game. Having to use the quick spray of the explosive gel to destroy the electrical apparatus and then pummeling him is a lot of fun to do. And then the fake out death is really cool to experience even though i knew it was coming. It’s the kind of effect that really makes city feel amazing to me.
Nice screenshots.
Love this game.
