It’s been maybe once a year with Fedora (except that time it was three days before the update that fixed whatever the issue was, but then it was like three times and I pretty much count it as the same “incident”). Wish I could help, but short of knowing why all I have is “well that sucks bro.” Maybe looking into your logs when it happens will help identify a specific problem that can be fixed, if you care to do so. If you like windows though just stick to windows, whatever.
I’ve had Fedora lock up on me a few times over the years, eventually some update fixes something pretty quick and it stops doing it. Tbf, I’ve had windows freeze on me far more all the way from '98 to XP to Vista to 8.1 to 10, I kinda just figured it happens sometimes.
Frameworks have all AMD options too, just a heads up. I have one and it runs great!
Running a framework 16 with FedoraKDE and before that a 4gb ram 2015 toshiba satellite (in 2024) running Fedora (regular Gnome) and haven’t had one of these issues. Most issues I have had were caused by me, every now and again I run into a regular old bug in something and half the time that gets fixed pretty quick.
I wish I could help, but we just have opposite experiences unfortunately. That said, because of this I don’t think it’s “linux,” or I’d likely have at least similar experiences.
OH for a while I did have a bug where VLC would stutter playing video and nobody had a fix, so I uninstalled/reinstalled VLC and it works now. Idk, I’ve had shit like that happen on windows too though, it’s basically the software version of power cycling hardware when it acts up.
Well good to hear the Polish are stable.
…so you’re saying if I do cocaine and we sleep together you’ll send me link?
Can someone hack this “bloc” and release all their private chats? Like, work and personal, conversations about their giant hemorrhoids and all.
I keep hearing about these problems but I don’t think I’ve seen any using LibreWolf for like…2y or so now? Something like that, long time using, no problems yet.
Is it like facebook or some other nightmare website I avoid like the plague that gives the problems? If it’s news websites, well that’s just news websites, archive is necessary.
No.
Yes.
Your argument is that because
FOSS would be permissible in AnCap society…
Because voluntary association and sharing is also a core tenet of volunteerism/anarchocapitalism, as they also are of anarcho-communism…
FOSS being
fundamentally constructed upon AnCom principles of rejecting Capitalism and centralization in favor of decentralized and collectively owned and distributed property
FOSS being similar to AnCom because both share principles of sharing
makes it not in line with Anarcho-Communism.
makes it not necessarily Anarcho-Communist.
You’re making false equivalencies for the sake of it.
Regardless of what AnCaps argue, the fundamental fact is that Anarchy is a rejection of hierarchy, whereas Private Property itself requires both the Owner/Worker hierarchy, and a monopoly on violence that cannot be reasonably contested to uphold Private Property protections. As such, it can only be considered Libertarian, as it both maintains hierarchy and maintains some semblance of at minimum a nightwatchman state.
Regardless is right, because my comments were never about espousing the benefits of anarcho-capitalism, I was using them to make the point that simply because things share a similarity with a political ideology it does not in fact make them “that ideology.” Arguing about ancapistan in this instance is a “strawman.”
Sharing being allowed does not mean FOSS aligns with AnCap principles, that’s like saying bagel consumption is AnCap.
No this is my point, you get your own.
use, fork, maintain, and distribute as they see fit.
“Sharing.”
Yes and they’d argue that anarchism isn’t exclusively leftist (well, I’D argue that depends on one’s definition of left/right, because depending on who you ask it’s either good/bad, collectivism/individualism, or lib/auth, and by the latter definition they would then be leftist capitalists, which is funny to think about.) They support individual ownership without rulers, however they still promote sharing of things you own with your community if you can/want.
Right, and just because sharing is “allowed” in communism doesn’t mean sharing is communism. It being allowed in both not being necessarily representative of either is my whole point.
Idk, technically voluntary association is a key tenet of volunteerism/anarcho-capitalism, so if we’re just using volunteering as the basis we might as well say it’s volunteerism. I think anarcho-communism and anarcho-capitalism are a bit more nuanced than “sharing.”
Tbf, I (and I’m a random third guy not the guy to which you’re replying, for clarity’s sake), also doubt it’ll be a folder of jpegs…but I think it’ll be fairly trivial to exploit whatever it is, and it’ll take way too much storage (storage cheap now, whatever, I know I’m old but I don’t use cloud and I’ve got other shit to spend money on than HDDs or SSDs, which I do also need as a pirate/data hoarder and don’t want to waste space on).
Well you see I have my browser set to delete history on exit because of security so this would override that and keep the history…that I…deleted… Wait…
Lmao idfk why people would possibly want this either.
