I loved all the little details that were only on screen for a split second! The one shot where they first meet–I assume all the eggshells in the bird nest implied she had eaten them 😭
There were a couple weirdly fanservicey shots, like the shot that went up that ninja’s underwear, but the show is so goofy that I don’t really mind. (Also that was a pretty cool animation sequence.) I love Satoko ;-;
Wow, this first episode was really something. As a manga reader, this episode was absolutely nuts. Don’t get me wrong, I like the manga, but it didn’t deserve the level of production that went into this first episode.
That opening sequence was absolutely wild. They went 4:3, with a hand-painted cel look that made me feel like I was watching an old Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Then, the ninja that show up later and the fight that they had, were so needlessly well animated. The final thing I am going to mention about the animation was just how hard they went animating Satoko’s leaf jutsu that first time. Just what the hell…
I enjoyed the manga enough that I wanted to check out the show, but this cranked my interest way up. They have really outdone themselves with this adaptation so far. Now I can’t wait for more cast members to show up.

Wow, this might be the most I’ve enjoyed a series premiere since spy x family. Hope it holds up.
I have read the manga for this and they really went wild with this adaptation. It was way better than it has any right to be. It reminds me a bit of the Bocchi adaptation.
This went way harder than it needed to, lol. The jokes were a little hit or miss for me, but I ended up really liking the tone they settled into where nothing is taken seriously. The action was also way better than it had any right to be, and I really love that they gave those two ninjas interesting character designs even though they had very limited screen time between introduction and death. I’ll definitely be continuing this one. 4/5.

I loved the creative camera angles (both the action scenes and elsewhere)
